Do I need an appointment to do my taxes?

You do not have to have an appointment to file your tax return with Smith Tax & Business Service. In fact our office encourages drop offs! Our staff will walk you through our intake form and we are happy to make notes for our accountants. Please be sure your number on file is up to date so we can contact you with any questions.

Can you help me start my business?

Yes! Maribeth offers business start up appointments where she can assist you in understanding and obtaining everything you need to start your business. From a business license to navigating state and county taxes we can help you get started and explain the variety of bookkeeping services we offer that make moving forward a breeze! We encourage our entrepreneurs to bring in any bookkeeping information they have already incurred.

Where’s my refund?

We get this question a lot which is so understandable! The only resource for finding information about your refund status is the IRS and there are two ways to start that process. The hotline number: 800-829-1954 or their online portal: https://sa.www4.irs.gov/wmr/

What bookkeeping services do you offer?

We are happy to provide payroll services, monthly bookkeeping, sales tax report filing, and other services for several of your favorite local businesses! Drop off your receipts, hours, bank statements… and we will take care of all those accounting issues that keep you from focusing on producing, creating and providing your services within the community.

Can I get an appointment for advice on my taxes?

Absolutely! Maribeth is happy to offer consultations during regular appointment times outside of tax season (May-December) to discuss the upcoming year’s tax preparation and navigating financial decisions.

Graduate of MTSU and active member of Lawrenceburg Baptist Church. A very loved Grandmother and wife to Bob Matthews, Miss Marian is our expert in payroll. With over 30 years in bookkeeping she stays ahead of deadlines and gives her clients undivided attention.
